A bit about Natasha

17 May 2006

I have ten years directing experience in theatre and film, having been Associate Director at West Yorkshire Playhouse and Artistic Director at Northampton Theatres Trust. In both these roles I led and participated in an extensive programme of work both with and for the education sector. I’ve been freelance since 2002; in that year, I became the first Western director to direct a new play in China with a Chinese cast.

Other directing credits include plays at the National Theatre Studio, Royal Court, Donmar, Bush and Soho Theatres.

I’ve worked in the cultural sector for 20 years acquiring a broad range of experience in strategic planning, programming, artist development, production, project management, fundraising and marketing.

After working as Theatre Director at Cambridge Arts Theatre, since the mid 1990s, I’ve developed an interest in international arts. Through Chinese Crackers, I helped to instigate and manage several creative exchange projects involving British and Chinese artists. I’m currently a Regional Council Member of Arts Council England.
