our projects and plans |
Young Advocates ProgrammeThe Young Advocates Programme is a British Council initiated project, organised in partnership with the Chinese Disabled Persons Federation. The programme aims to create a network of up to 250 able and disabled young advocates, aged 18 to 25, across the globe. Through workshops and training the young advocates will develop leadership and communication skills, enabling them to contribute to their local communities by raising awareness of social inclusion. The ambition of the Young Advocates Programme is to develop an international legacy for the Paralympic Games in Beijing this year, London in 2012 and beyond. The Young Advocates Programme was launched in China , where it will culminate in an international Youth Forum in Beijing during the Paralympic Games in September. At this event China 's young advocates will be joined by other young advocates from around the world. 100 Words is delighted to have been invited to run a skills workshop at the Youth Forum along with other practitioners from the UK including Northern Ballet Theatre and YeastCulture.

about 100 words100 Words is a project for young people, tapping into their creativity and creating global connections. Inspired by preparations for the Beijing Olympics (where people are being encouraged to learn '100 sentences of a foreign language'), 100 Words will build over the next five years towards London 2012, generating thousands of plays, films, musicals and operas - each written using just 100 words.
